Free GitHub Education: Student Developer Pack (GitHub Pro, Copilot Pro, & More)

Eligibility: Must verify student status through GitHub Education (using a school email or ID). Available globally.

1. Go to GitHub Education
2. Click Sign up for Student Developer Pack.
3. Under Education Benefits, click Start an application.
4. Select your role (Teacher or Student).
5. Under What is your school email address?, select your school email.
   • If you didn't use your school email when creating your GitHub account, add it as a secondary email at github.com/settings/emails
   • After adding it, verify the email from your inbox. You'll see a green confirmation message like:
     "You have verified the email address xxxx@xxx.edu on your GitHub account. That academic domain is associated with the school University of xxxxx."
6. Click Select this school and choose your role.
7. Click Share Location and select your sharing preferences.
8. Once location is shared, click Continue.
9. Upload a document to verify your student status. Acceptable options include:
   • Good: Dated school ID
   • Fair: Dated transcript or enrollment letter
   • Poor: Class schedule, syllabus, receipt, or screenshot of student portal
     (Good proof types have the highest chance of approval.)
10. Take or upload a clear photo of your document and click Continue. GitHub will then verify your documents and grant access to the Student Developer Pack once approved.
